During the 3-day event Gantner had the opportunity to showcase its measurement capabilities for -amongst others- helicopter component fatigue testing and turbine engine durability testing. Participants could witness a live demonstration of Gantner’s Q.series modules for strain, temperature and vibration measurement. Other participants included industry leading companies like Airbus Helicopters, Leonardo Helicopters, Safran Helicopter Engines, DLR, and Onera.
Recently, both Airbus Helicopters and Safran Helicopter Engines have selected the Q.series for their test labs. Airbus has selected the Q.series EC with EtherCAT interface as the total control and measurement solution of choice for their entire components structural testing lab. Safran has accredited the Q.series for all their engine development and production test benches.

Strain is the single most important measurement during aircraft fatigue testing. The accuracy and precision of strain gauge measurements is of the greatest importance to exactly determine the durability and damage tolerance of a structure. The higher a structure is in the ‘pyramid of test’, the higher the test complexity, number of measurement channels, and data produced. On top of that the risk in terms of time delay and cost associated to a test program increases more than proportional with the increase in test complexity. Here are six tips to help you choose the right data acquisition system for your fatigue test:

De nombreuses raisons justifient un système de mesure flexible et robuste qui doit être facile à transporter pour collecter des données de mesure à différents endroits. Il peut s'agir, par exemple, de mesures à court terme sur des machines ou des composants d'usine lors de la mise en service après un entretien, ou de mesures récurrentes sur des ponts ou d'autres ouvrages d'art.
