Based in Austria, with a site in Lauf an der Pegnitz in Middle Franconia, the company has spent many years building the technological foundation for capturing data from a wide range of sources, processing it and making it usable for innovation — from energy and research technology through to medical technology.
Gantner Instruments has a clear mission: to acquire high-resolution data, almost in real time, and make it available for analysis, automation and AI models. “Our goal is to provide data in a way that it can be used immediately for evaluations, digital applications and new technologies,” says Dana Kaufmann, Key Account Manager Academic & Research.
The mid-sized company’s solutions are used wherever information must be captured, processed and evaluated reliably. From individual measuring points to complex large-scale systems, a broad range of scenarios can be covered.
Gantner Instruments is also active in medical technology. Its technologies support, among other things, the development and testing of MRI and CT systems as well as quality assurance for medical components and manufacturing processes. The company does not supply the sensors themselves, but the infrastructure for processing, digitizing and providing the captured data.
A major driver of current developments in medical technology is the growing use of artificial intelligence. For Gantner Instruments, this is not a fundamentally new trend. “We have been providing high-resolution data for decades. That is why our systems are an important foundation for many AI applications today,” Kaufmann explains. At the same time, the company is watching how AI can be integrated more deeply into industrial processes and technical systems.
A particular strength is its European base. Gantner Instruments develops and manufactures predominantly in Europe and relies on regional supply chains and short paths in development and production. This also makes it possible to implement individual customer requirements quickly. “Our European focus and the high flexibility in development and production enable us to realize even highly specific solutions efficiently,” says Kaufmann. Looking ahead, the company expects further momentum in healthcare from new imaging methods, digitalization and data-driven development processes. Regardless of the specific application, precise data acquisition and processing remain a core prerequisite for technological innovation.
As a new partner in the Health Innovation Network, Gantner Instruments wants to intensify exchange with players in the healthcare industry. The focus is on new connections, a deeper understanding of the specifics of the healthcare market, and insights into research and transfer structures. “We want to better understand how innovation in healthcare is created and how research, industry and care work together,” Kaufmann explains.
