In La Courneuve close to Paris Alstom Power Hydro is developing and producing valves to control the steam supply for turbines that have a length up to 60 m, a diameter of 6.5 m and generating a power of 1500 MW. Due to the steam pressure of 80 bar at the valve flap a force of more than 600 kN will apear. The hydraulic pressure in the valve is 350 bar. To ensure the functionality of the opening and closing process, the relevant parameter - the displacement/pressure characteristic has to be measured and monitored.
For the measurement and the valve control the e.bloxx modules are used. The synchronized acquisition of the displacement (LVDT) and the pressure signal with a sample rate of 1000/s ensure reliable results.
The Test Controller e.pac is recording and evaluating the s/p-characteristic online and it's PID is controling valve. The setpoint curve is generated from the PAC too.
The stabil and reliable measurments (carrier frequency), the remote but synchronized acquisition and the easy graphically programmable PAC convince the user.
